He has introduced thousands of new players to the sport and was one of the original team members behind the USPA Instructor Certification Program. Elizabeth Holson

Elizabeth, or Liz as most know her, brings energy, dedication, and a wealth of experience to our instructional team. A lifelong rider and former collegiate polo player at Skidmore College, Liz has worked as a groom, instructor, and program manager across the East Coast. She played a key role in the USPA’s clinic outreach program and continues to support riders of all levels at Sonoma Polo Center. Her love for teaching and background in horsemanship make her an essential part of our community.

Rachel Faierman

Rachel has been immersed in the equestrian world since childhood and brings a unique blend of show barn experience and polo expertise to SPC. Rachel’s knowledge and attention to detail ensure our horses stay happy, healthy, and ready to perform, both in lessons and in tournament play.

Our Approach to Polo Instruction

At Sonoma Polo Center, we teach polo the right way — with safety, structure, and a sense of fun. Every lesson is tailored to the rider’s experience, goals, and comfort level. We emphasize building a strong foundation in horsemanship, while helping students understand the strategies, teamwork, and athleticism that make polo such a unique sport.

Whether you're taking your first ride or preparing for your next match, our instructors are here to support you with expert guidance and genuine care.
